The Association Il Nido delle Aquile in collaboration with the Tuscany Region, the municipality of Abetone-Cutigliano, the Pro Loco of Abetone, AVSSAT, the Misericordia of Abetone organizes the fifth edition of “SGHIANDO”
which will take place on 1,2,3 March 2024.
FIRST DAY
5.00 p.m. opening of the village in Piazzale Europa in Abetone:
1) Opening of the stands dedicated to the activities of our territory with handicrafts, music, zero-km products, gastronomic points.
From the mountains of Cuneo comes the sculptor artist Barba Brisiu who will create for us during the three days of the event.
2) Registrations for the special “Vintage” slalom race (for those who have not already done so online by bank transfer to: nest of eagles ETS reason: name and surname age – registration Sghiando 2024 iban IT73S 03069 09606 100 000 185399 NO LATER THAN 23/02).
Race pack collection at the “sghiando” stand or after 4.30 p.m. on 2/03 at the Ovovia.
6.30 p.m. Lighting of the old torches and departure towards the Aviary area for the lighting of the bonfire, signal for the start of the torchlight procession of the ski instructors of all the schools of Abetone who will descend on the slopes of Zeno.
Return to the square for the tasting of the products accompanied by the music of the “Restauro Band” complex.
SECOND DAY
9 a.m. At the start of the Ovovia slopes, vintage skiers will meet for the ski area cheering those present with itinerant music, tastings of typical products, vin broulè.
10 a.m. Opening of the village in Piazza Europa Abetone with itinerant music by the Tazioli orchestra.
12 noon closing of race registration.
3 p.m. for those who do not ski, visit to the ski museum where we will find the Tazzioli orchestra that will entertain with its music.
At 4 p.m. at the start of the cable car stand with vin broulè accompanied by the music of DJ Filippo Castelli (CESTO).
5 p.m. evaluations of the clothing and materials of the participants in the race with attribution of scores.
In the meantime, our president Francesco Serarcangeli begins to trace the course of the slalom race.
6 p.m. start of the first heat.
Second run to follow.
At 8 p.m. end of the race and we move inside the refuge departure of the cable car for the tasting of dinner and for the award ceremony.
All this is always accompanied by the music of Yama dj Filippo Castelli (Cesto) and the Tazzioli orchestra.
THIRD DAY
9.30 a.m. at the “sghiando” stand in Piazza Abetone, meeting point for participants for the snowshoe route accompanied by the environmental guide Giordano Mazzolini (telephone number for registrations 338 2223209)
10 a.m. opening of the village.
at the Zeno slopes, meeting place for Vintage skiers and free skiing.
In the meantime, in the village, the demonstrations of our artists will continue until the evening.
At 3 p.m. in Piazzale Europa c/o village award ceremony for the students of the complexes of Abetone-Cutigliano, Piteglio-S. Marcello, Pievepelago who tried their hand at the theme: “Research of old sayings and nursery rhymes graphically represented with free techniques”.
7 p.m. Village closing.
